Job-hopping won't get you a fat pay raise anymore, according to the Wall Street Journal.

So if increasing your W-2 salary isn't as easy now, what's the next best thing? Investing. Take the money that you do earn, and put it into well-performing stocks so you at least have some chance of keeping up with inflation.

The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq closed out their fifth week of declines out of six 📉 (did we celebrate too early last week?)
Bitcoin enjoyed a weekly high of $88.5k on Mar 24 but finished the week off on Mar 28 by dipping below $84k.

Earnings

Mar 25: GameStop (GME) Q4 EPS came in 222% above expectations, but revenue earnings missed expectations by $220M.

Mar 26: Paychex (PAYX) Q3 EPS came in 0.68% above expectations, and revenue earnings met expectations of $1.51B.

Economic Reports

Consumer confidence dipped to a more than 4-year low of 92.9 in March, from 100.1 in February.

Initial jobless claims dropped to 224,000 from previous count of 225,000. There does not seem to be a significant uptick of federal workers applying for unemployment benefits.

PCE index of 0.3% for the month of February met expectations and shows that inflation is still a problem.

💡 The EV automaker hit a landmark $100B in annual sales in 2024, marking a 29% year-over-year increase.

💡 The company shipped over 400K vehicles internationally last year and now accounts for ~16% of all cars exported from China during Jan. and Feb. 2025.

The Bottom Line

BYD is Elon Musk's worst nightmare. The company recently came out with a new battery system that can add 292 miles in just 5 minutes, beating out Tesla's Superchargers that can do 200 miles in 15 minutes. It's also slowly gaining market share in China and squeezing out Tesla. But what about BYD's financials? Solid AF. From what we can see, BYD is eating Tesla's lunch, and we're all for it (some healthy market competition never hurt anyone).

💡 Cloudflare received a rare double upgrade from Bank of America analysts, who see a lot of growth in the network security company’s future.

💡 The company recently added quantum-safe encryption to zero trust tools, providing extra security to corporate apps.

The Bottom Line

Some reports claim that most internet activity is now generated by bots. It's no wonder then that we constantly see "Verify you're a human" check boxes on webpages (powered by Cloudflare). As bot activity inevitably soars, so will demand for Cloudflare's web security services. Combine this with the company's strong financials, and you've got yourself a growth stock worth investing in.

🤖 Artificial Intelligence

VantAI, a drug discovery AI company, revealed the first-ever model “to decode and design the structure of life" called Neo-1. It relies on AI to identify useful proteins already embedded in our cells and repurpose them to fight diseases.
Alibaba came out with its new Qwen2.5 Omni model, which can analyze uploaded videos, detect objects in a photo, or turn text documents into speech. These features are typically only available with expensive, closed-source LLMs.

🧬 Regenerative Medicine

Thanks to a stem-cell scientist at Keio University in Tokyo, a paralyzed man can now stand on his own after receiving an injection of (reprogrammed) neural stem cells to treat his spinal cord injury. Although the results suggest that the treatment is safe, they have not yet been peer reviewed.

⚡️ Electric Vehicles

Chinese automaker BYD's new battery system adds 292 miles of range with only 5 minutes of charging — much faster than Tesla's Superchargers which add 200 miles in 15 minutes.

🚛 Fleetio, a fleet maintenance management software company, raised $450M at a valuation of $1.5B with Goldman Sachs Alternatives as one of the lead investors.

🏦 Mercury, a company that provides online banking solutions for startups and technology-focused businesses, raised $300M at a valuation of $3.5B with Sequoia Capital as the lead investor.

🏝️ Island, an enterprise browser developer, raised $250M at a valuation of $4.8B with Coatue Management as the lead investor.
