🛢️ Oil prices remain elevated as Israel-Iran conflict continues. The price of crude oil is up ~10% since Israel attacked Iran. Generally, rising oil prices are not good for the stock market because it increases businesses' operating costs (e.g., transportation, energy usage). Interesting to note that prices were even higher back in January of this year ($78.71 on Jan 15, 2025).

🧘 Jerome keeps it steady. The Fed held rates in their 4.25% to 4.50% range. Probably a good move since experts believe the full effects of tariffs haven't kicked in yet. Wouldn't want inflation to spike (again).​

🤨 Corporate America shrinks workforce despite record profits. US public companies cut white-collar jobs by 3.5% over three years while profits kept climbing. If companies are profitable, then that's good for the stock market, right? Well, technically yes. But if firing employees across the board to replace them with AI becomes the new norm, then what will happen to consumer spending and earnings in the long-term? Something to think about...

📈 Moderate Impact | Amazon vs Nvidia: The Chip Wars 🍪

• Background: AWS has upgraded its Graviton4 chip to include 600 gigabits per second of network bandwidth. Amazon's mission is to reduce AI training costs and provide an alternative to Nvidia’s expensive graphics processing units (GPUs).

• Investor Impact: Bullish for Amazon and bearish for Nvidia if the Graviton4 chip gains traction. High probability of this happening since cost-efficiency is a major competitive advantage and AWS is already doing business with a strategic partner in the AI space: Anthropic.

👀 Watchlist | Honda Enters the Space Race 🚀

• Background: Honda recently launched and landed a prototype reusable rocket, and the company plans to achieve suborbital space flight by 2029.

• Investor Impact: Worth noting that the company has not yet decided whether it will commercialize its rocket tech. However, the recent launch/landing success and weak earnings report create a ripe opportunity to pivot into the space launch business and supplement revenue.
